Lovejoys Brother Bobs Bitter

4.5 stars average2 ratings • 1 comment

Brother Bob’s Bitter is a traditional style bitter ale with a non-traditional dry hopping of Cascade plugs in the fermenter. English hops with a mid-range alpha acid content were used exclusively in the kettle, making this a smooth, drinkable beer without being over the top bitter. This beer certainly has more aroma than a traditional bitter but is balanced well with the malt character. As saintly as our little buddy Bob is, he is not to be mistaken for an official of any religious order, but merely a mildly accomplished member of the Order Of The Fez. Like Bob, this beer may seem unimposing on the outside but after a pint or two it starts to show it’s teeth.

This is a great beer! Great bitter flavor without being face-puckeringly hoppy. If you're ever in Austin, stop by Lovejoy's and get this! At $2.50 a pint, it's hard to beat!
