Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.
Hang on; we're seeing what we know about Breckenridge Vanilla Porter...

This is a mediocre beer at best. It attempts to be a sweet tasting beer, yet isn't sweet in any way. The vanilla clashes harshly with the darker porter flavors. All in all it is a decent desert beer, but I wouldn't recommend it often.
I really like this porter. It plays on the sweet (vanilla) vs. bitter flavor battle. A buddy of mine thinks the vanilla is too strong, I disagree. I'm drinking one right now. I have yet to be disappointed with the Brackenridge beers. Their Christmas Ale this past year was fantastic.
Simply put ... this is one nice brew! This brew pours up a near pitch black body with a good 1-finger head. Aromas a vanilla (duh!) and coffee match up to the well-balanced flavors of vanilla and coffee in this brew. The body is smooth, creamy and has just the right amount of 'thickness' that one would want is this great brew! Pair this bad boy up with grilled steaks or smoked meats or even some wild game for dinner and you'll be on the Bliss Express!
